6G4Society hosts first citizen engagement workshop in Rome
On the 28th of May 2024, 6G4Society had a successful workshop in Rome organized by project partners Digital for Planet and CyberEthics Lab., in collaboration with university students part of the youth-led association, AIESEC Roma Tre. During our 1.5 hours together, we explained what we are aiming to achieve with 6G4Society and how the Citizen Survey will aid to feed our work on the Technology Acceptance Model.

The Citizen Survey is an opportunity for citizens to share their experiences and opinions about current 5G technology and the upcoming transition to 6G, and the data collected will help guide European Union policymakers and technology providers toward developing more inclusive and sustainable communication networks.
We also talked about the evolution of connectivity from 1G to now, developing from human-to-human connection to connecting everything with the current generation of connectivity.
A central part of the workshop was a group activity where the students had the chance to explore the potential impact of 6G on three main topics: society, Italy & the EU and the environment. The groups were guided by three questions and discussed how they think their particular area will be transformed with 6G, as well as what their biggest hope and biggest fears related to 6G were.
We have come out of this workshop more inspired than ever and want to thank all the participants for their insights and fruitful discussions!
Do you want to share your experiences on 5G and 6G technology and help guide EU leaders and technology providers in designing a more inclusive and sustainable approach to future connectivity?
