6G4Society Heads to EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025 to Champion Human-Centered Innovation in Future Connectivity

The 2025 EuCNC & 6G Summit is one of the leading European events shaping the future of telecommunications. The conference covers everything from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to cutting-edge 6G research, and offers a vibrant platform for showcasing the latest research, testbeds, and forward-thinking ideas driving the evolution of communications networks and services.

The 6G4Society project is proud to contribute to this year’s program with the special session “Social Acceptance as a Catalyst for Sustainable 6G: Bridging Technology, Society, and Policy.” This session addresses the critical role of social acceptance in ensuring that 6G not only delivers technical innovation but also meets societal expectations. By drawing on insights from across the SNS JU community, the session will explore how diverse stakeholder perceptions—ranging from policymakers to end-users—can shape the design and deployment of trustworthy, sustainable technologies. Participants will reflect on how a deeper understanding of public attitudes can reduce resistance, strengthen trust, and align 6G development with shared societal values.

Also on the agenda is the session “Societal Sustainability Driven by Values: Transforming 6G Through Key Value Indicators” which highlights how 6G innovation must go beyond performance metrics to deliver real-world benefits. The session will showcase practical applications of Key Value Indicators (KVIs), a new methodology developed to measure societal impact and integrate sustainability into design processes. By presenting case studies, implementation challenges, and conceptual frameworks, the session aims to build a more coherent understanding of how KVIs can be applied across use cases, even at early stages of research, and how they can guide the long-term vision of a socially-driven 6G.

Additionally, 6G4Society Project Coordinator Monique Calisti will join the workshop “6G Trustworthiness: Requirements, Challenges, and Considerations” to share her perspective on building credible, value-based future networks.

We are thrilled to be present at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025, and to share our work on embedding social and environmental values into the next generation of connectivity. Join us as we work together with our peers to shape a 6G future that’s not only faster and smarter—but also fairer and more sustainable.
