6G4Society workshop in Palermo inspires youth engagement
On October 2nd and 3rd, 2024, 6G4Society successfully hosted a workshop in Palermo, organised by project partners CyberEthics Lab in collaboration with university students from A. Einstein High School.
Over the course of two days, 40 enthusiastic students participated in discussions centered on key themes related to 6G and the ethics of technology. Following a presentation by CyberEthics Lab on the project’s objectives, the evolution of mobile networks, and the innovative features of 6G, the students engaged in lively discussions. They proposed creative use cases across five sectors—mobility, health, education, industry, and transport—demonstrating their interest and vision for how these technologies will shape our future.
As part of the workshop, participants were introduced to the Citizen Survey, an important initiative that invites citizens to share their experiences and opinions about current 5G technology and the upcoming transition to 6G. The data collected will be instrumental in guiding European Union policymakers and technology providers toward developing more inclusive and sustainable communication networks.
We left the workshop feeling more inspired than ever and want to extend our gratitude to all participants for their valuable insights and fruitful discussions!
